Mrs. Garrett was the daughter of George Clemey and Esther Claudene (Timmerman) Tucker, born Aug. 30, 1920, in Glenwood.
She married Stanley William Garrett on May 8. 1937, in Rock Port, Mo. To this union one son was born. The family lived in Glenwood, where Mrs. Garrett was employed with the Glenwood School System for 25 years. During this time, she was the first woman school bus driver and some believe the first in the state of Iowa. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and U.M.W. For many years, she enjoyed buying and selling depression glass.
