Born in St-Joseph de Pointe-Levis, Rev. Bourget was appointed Coadjutor Bishop of the Montreal Diocese on March 10, 1837, and was Bishop of it from April 19, 1840 to June 26, 1876. He helped build Mary, Queen of the World Cathedral.
