Jonathan “Jay” Benetatos
Jay passed peacefully from this life the morning of July 22nd after his long fight with cancer. He was surrounded and supported by his loving family during the last days of his life. Born in New York on June 23, 1973, he was the son of Peter and Florence Benetatos. Survivors include 6 siblings. Jerry and Michelle Benetatos; a son; 6 grandchildren, Victoria and Mark Brizendine; a son; 4 daughters; 11 grandchildren, Linda Benetatos; 2 sons; 1 grandchild, Christopher and Kim Benetatos, a son; 2 daughters; 5 grandchildren, Henry Benetatos; a son; 3 daughters; Kenneth and Gabriela Benetatos; 2 sons, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other loving relatives and many, many friends.
Jay was one of a kind, a little goofy but an amazing brother, uncle, and friend. He was a fighter that was full of courage and had so much spirit. He loved his family dearly and you could always count on him for a laugh.
A celebration of life will be held at Maddox Funeral Home 105 W Main Street Front Royal, Virginia 22630 at 1:00 pm on Friday, July 31st. The visitation will begin at 11am. Interment will follow in Bennett’s Chapel Cemetery near Front Royal, VA 22630.
