Lois Estep (Porter), 91, of Oklahoma City, passed away Sunday morning, October 25, 2015, after a brief illness. She has gone to heaven to see the loved ones she has missed over the past few years. She was a gentle soul who did not seek attention for herself, but allowed others to flower around her. As a mother and wife, she was giving and kind, constantly putting others ahead of her needs and desires. She provided us gentle guidance and stood by us when we suffered. She was the bedrock of our lives. She was born September 11, 1924 in Cassville, Missouri to Hank and Delphia Porter. She moved to Oklahoma City in the late 1940’s. There in 1950, she met William Estep, and they were married June 2, 1951. After a brief career in retail, she continued life as a homemaker, raising four children and helping with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A devout Christian, she was a longtime member of Wilshire Church of Christ. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Hank and Delphia Porter, and her husband William Estep. She was also preceded by her brother Ernest Porter, sister Faith Porter, sister Helen Porter, sister Mabel Ochoto, brother Wayne Porter and sister Ginger Parker Luttrell. She is survived by her brother David Porter of Giddings, TX. She is survived by her children, Bill and his wife Harriet Estep of Claremore, OK, Adeline and her husband Richard Nix of Yukon, OK, Dennis and his wife Susan Estep of Joplin, Missouri, and Randy and his wife Teresa Estep of Oklahoma City, OK. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Viewing will be Thursday, October 29, from 12 pm to 6 pm.
