Grace the daughter of Mrs. Charles Howard, Route 1 Leon, died here at 2:15 yesterday afternoon from burns sustained that morning when her clothing caught fire from an open stove. She received deep burns on both arms and legs and on the chest, face and neck. The Leon girl was rushed to the Allen Memorial Hospital here but efforts to save her life proved futile.
Grace was born at DeGraff on January 22, 1924, and resided in Butler County all her life.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by five brothers, Emmett Howard of Winfield, Iowa. Grattan, Ewing, Claude and Marion all of Leon. A sister Mrs. Homer Dyke of Sterling, and a grandmother, Mrs. Ruth Parker, of Avoca, Ark.
