Clyde Mortimer Winslett, age 92, a lifelong resident of Montevallo, Alabama, died December 28, 2014. He worked for many years for The Coca Cola Bottling Company and retired from Seaman Timber Company. He enjoyed woodworking and carpentry throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Henry and Amanda Winslett; brothers Craddock Winslett, John Winslett, Thomas Winslett, and Steve Winslett; sisters Willie Galloway, Nyla Sellers, and Clara Ruddy Thompson. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Sarah Opal Adams Winslett; children Stanley Clyde Winslett (Janis) of Mobile, AL and Brenda Joyce Winslett Parsons (Steve) of Northport, AL; grandchildren Rachel Elizabeth Winslett of Mobile, AL, Michael Stephen Parsons of Birmingham, AL, and Bryant Stanley Winslett of Mobile, AL; sister Lavenia Scurlock of Montevallo, AL, and many beloved nephews and nieces.

Services will be held at Montevallo First Baptist Church, 660 Main Street, Montevallo, AL on Friday, January 2, 2015. Visitation will be at the church at 11:00 a.m., with the service beginning at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be at 1:15 p.m. at Alabama National Cemetery, 3133 Hwy 119, Montevallo, AL.Flowers may be sent directly to Montevallo First Baptist Church, 660 Main Street, Montevallo, AL 35115. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Big Oak Ranch (P.O. Box 507, Springville, AL 35146), St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105), or Gideons International (P.O. Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214).
