Sarah Opal Adams Winslett, age 87, a lifelong resident of Montevallo, Alabama, died June 13, 2015. Through her years she worked at The Little Shop, later became a dental hygienist for Dr. Milton Orr, and in more recent years worked at Marie’s Gift Shop and Lacey Jewelry and Gifts. Throughout her life she wanted to serve the Lord, and she carried out that desire for over 65 years at Montevallo First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Mortimer Winslett; father and mother, Charles and Lillian Adams; brothers Houston Adams and Luther Adams; sisters Dorothy Adams, Olivia Carter, and Catherine Milling.

She is survived by her children Stanley Clyde Winslett (Janis) of Mobile, AL and Brenda Joyce Winslett Parsons (Steve) of Northport, AL; grandchildren Rachel Elizabeth Winslett of Mobile, AL, Michael Stephen Parsons of Birmingham, AL, and Bryant Stanley Winslett of Mobile, AL; sister Yvonne Williams of Alexandria, VA, and many beloved nephews and nieces.

Services will be held on Friday, June 19, 2015 at Montevallo First Baptist Church, 660 Main Street, Montevallo, AL. Visitation will be at the church at 12:30 p.m., with the service beginning at 1:30 p.m. The committal service will be at 2:45 p.m. at Alabama National Cemetery, 3133 Hwy 119, Montevallo, AL.

Flowers may be sent directly to Montevallo First Baptist Church, 660 Main Street, Montevallo, AL 35115. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of West Alabama (3851 Loop Road, Tuscaloosa, AL 35404), Big Oak Ranch (P.O. Box 507, Springville, AL 35146), Gideons International (P.O. Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214), or Our Daily Bread Ministries (P.O. Box 2222, Grand Rapids, MI 49501).
