RAYMOND ROSE
Funeral services for Raymond Rose, 74, Pittsburg, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Murman and Wilson Funeral Home, Johnston City.
The Rev Maurice Swinford will officiate. Burial will be in the East Lawn Memorial Gardens south of Energy. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.
Mr Rose, a retired coal miner died at 5:30 a.m. Sunday in the Herrin Hospital.
He was a member of Progressive Mine Workers of America Local 165. He last worked at the Sultra N0 5 mine at Harrisburg.
He was born Oct 31, 1897 in Cleaton, Ky, the son of Charlie and Nancy Helsey Rose. He married Hazel bartlett April 11, 1917 in Mt Vernon, Ind.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel, a daughter, Dorothy Law of Herrin, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother.
Three brothers preceded him in death.
