BIO:
WFT gives his parent's names as Abraham LORD, and Betsey (Davis) LORD.

"Rev. Tozier/Tosier Lord, was born in Berwick, ME, in 1744. He embraced Christ in 1773 and united with the Baptist church in Sanford.
He was ordained Oct. 1776 by Rev. Samuel Shepherd, and others, and took charge of the Free Church in 1779 in Barrington, (now Strafford) New Hampshire.
He was presented with the first parsonage in the state. He did revival work as well as pastor, and a revival broke out in Acton, ME, and he here made his home, though he preached occasionally with the Strafford church.
Rev. T. Lord preached the ordination sermon at Benjamin Randall's ordination, and also gave the charge. [Randall is credited with organizing the Freewill Baptists in New England, in 1780].
Rev. Lord was "not a learned man, but one of the most powerful preachers I ever heard, says one who sat under his ministry for ten years...He had no sympathy with the doctrine of election or close communion."
He moved to Athens, Maine in 1800 and continued to preach free gospel til disabled by infirmities. He died at Athens, 30 March 1830, at age 86 years.
--above info from "Free Baptist Cyclopedia," pub. 1889, by Burgess and Ward.

He was married to Phoebe/Phebe DORE (14 Sep 1765, ME), and they raised a family; two sons, James and Gershom, are both bur in this cemetery.

Note: No named cemetery is available as to where he is buried in Athens, but his son, James died after Eld. Tozier, and is in this cemetery, and this cemetery has over twenty "Lord" surnames, it seems he and Phoebe are probably buried here also. If better info is available, please advise and it will be corrected.
