Clair Thornton, 78, of Lake Park, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at her home following a lengthy illness. She was born on January 29, 1937 in Echols County, Georgia. Ms. Clair was retired from the Echols County School Systems cafeteria. She enjoyed cooking, reading her Bible, singing, and being with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Charles Kirkland; daughter and son-in-law, Ginny and Todd Roop; daughter, Laura Christie all of Lake Park; daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Marty Vann of Valdosta; her son, Roy Thornton of Lake Park; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Thornton, Sr., her son, Albert (Buddy) Thornton, Jr., and her granddaughter, Angela Gayle Walker.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 9, 2015 at 3 p.m. at Carter Cemetery with Elder Jim Sandlin officiating. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com. Carson McLane.
