William WILLIAMS, son of William WILLIAMS and Nancy HAISLIP, migrated to the area Round Hill and later Belfast around 1812 before Marshall County was formed. He would help in the organization of Marshall County, being appointed to the board to lay out the town lots in Lewisburg and public buildings in 1836 - helped in the formation of Lewisburg Male Academy in 1838. Was a consistent member of the Methodist Church.

Will was made out in 1840.

Williams's death date is taken from family Bible of Alfred Ogilvie WILLIAMS. Bible is in the possession of Scott Fraser.

His burial place is unknown but is believed to have been 1) at the home in the flower garden, near round top cemetery, now a field (head stones were thrown to the side during plowing or 2) Old Presbyterian Parsonage Cemetery near Old Belfast.

Children proved by Bible and Will: Nancy, Benjamin, Robert, Varnel, William Jr., Charles Wesley, Sarah Harriet, John, and Alfred Ogilvie

Brother to Rev. James Williams, Daniel Williams, Lucy Williams Peace of Civil Order, Chapel Hill and Henry Williams of Montgomery County.

Gravesite Details

Believed was buried in a garden not far from the home he built very near this cemetery. His wife and an infant child are buried also. Graves has long since been destroyed, no evidence.
