Bud grew up in the Delhi community and attended schools there. During his senior year he realized he was going to be drafted so he enlisted into the U.S. Naval Reserves in 1945. Upon enlisting he was sent to San Diego, California for basic training and was deployed to Shang Hi, China where he served as a tugboat operator. Bud returned stateside in late 1946 and was married to Lola Frances Harrington at Sayre, Oklahoma Feb. 1, 1947. After their marriage they remained in the Delhi community where Bud farmed and worked part-time for United Carbon. Being in the reserves, in 1950 he deployed to Yoksuka, Japan for 6 months. After his discharge he returned to Delhi until Jan. 1962 when they moved to Mojave, California where the family resided for 20 years while Bud worked for Ashland Chemical company. after a brief sty in Pampa, Texas they returned to Sayre where they made their home. Bud enjoyed hunting coyotes with greyhounds along with other game, being outdoors and spending time with family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Bonnie Jean Hildebrand and Shirley Killian.
Survived by his wife, Lola, of the home; 3 children Rodney and wife Joyce, Nacogdoches, Tx., Linda Chapman and husband, Steve, Houston, Tx. and Pamela Bosh and husband Wayne, Twin Falls, ID; 4 grandchildren, Jerod Bosh, Jessica Bartlett, Norla LaMonte and husband, Brad and Travis Hildebrand and wife, Megan, 7 great grandchildren, 1 brother, Roy Hildebrand, 3 sisters, Eva Dean Richmond and husband, Loyd, Roxie Babek, and Frances Blakley, and a host of other relatives and friends.
