He served as a Private in Company D 110th Ohio Infantry. He was captured on June 15th 1863 and paroled. He then was wounded on May 5th 1864 at the Battle of the Wilderness, Virginia. He was transferred to Mc Dougal General Hospital, Fort Schyuler, New York Harbor. Where he passed away from complications of a gun shot wound to the leg.
