A few years after the death of James' first wife, Sarah, James would marry Ann POLLARD "a widow" (no known children). James and Ann had no children. In the will of James he made provision for Ann "agreeable to our marriage contract." This included 150 acres of land and the dwelling place, for her use during her lifetime. At her death, it was sold and proceeds divided equally between James' children.

-Married about 1845 appears in the 1850 census with James' grandson Henry Melville.
