Magician/Actor. Channing Pollock was a master at card manipulation and dove magic. He was a mentor to many famous magicians over the years, counting Master Magician Lance Burton and Magician David Copperfield as two of his "students". His career started shortly after his graduation from the Chavez College of Magic in 1952 and took him across the world. He performed for many heads of state, including President Dwight Eisenhower, Queen Elizabeth II and others. One highlight of his career was his performance at the wedding of Prince Rainier of Monaco and Grace Kelly in 1956. The royal couple was so taken by him, that he returned often to entertain at the birthday parties of their children, Caroline, Stephanie and Albert. Over the years Channing performed with Sammy Davis Jr, and Liberace, appeared on television and in the movies. He appeared in a number of thrillers and dramas, including Moschettieri del mare (1960), with Aldo Ray and Pier Angeli; Rocambole (1962); Sceicco rosso (1962); and Georges Franju's Judex (1963), in which he played the romantic lead. He also appeared on several American variety shows such as Bonanza, Daniel Boone, and The Beverly Hillbillies. His dove magic was, and still is today, emulated by many magicians. He was considered by all to be a stylish performer, adept at close-up magic. He was known to many in the magic profession as a teacher and a friend.
