Born Aug. 17, 1931, in Amherst County, he was a son of the late Rufus Burch and Mamie Lawhorn Burch.
He was an active member of First Brethren Church since 1956 and served in the role of deacon.
Surviving are his wife, Edith Southers Burch; a son, Elwood “Bo” Burch Jr.; daughters, Pam Whitten, Debbie Duncan and Heidi Shafer; five grandchildren; and a sister; Edna Coffey.
A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, at First Brethren Church with the Rev. Mike Hamilton and Pastor Rick Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at First Brethren.
Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
