Clayton Mayo "Jack" Burch, 70, of Buena Vista, died Monday, January 26, 2004 at the Salem VA Medical Center.

Mr. Burch was born on October 26, 1933 in Buena Vista, a son of the late Rufus Burch and Mamie Lawhorn Burch. He was a member of the First Brethren Church in Buena Vista and was retired for several years.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheila Burch, two brothers and one sister.

Mr. Burch is survived by one son, Clay Burch and his fiancee Julia Clyburn of Clifton Forge; one daughter, Faith Havran and husband Justin of Charlottesville; two step-daughters, Misty Telleck and Toye Entsminger; two brothers: Garland Burch and Elwood Burch, both of Buena Vista; three sisters: Edna Coffey of Buena Vista; Gracie Allen of Waynesboro; and Virginia Loudermilk of Florida; one grandson and two step-grandchildren of Buena Vista.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2004 at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Smals, Rev. Rick Ramsey and Rev. W. A. Mills officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery in Buena Vista. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Service, Buena Vista.
