Charles L. (C.L) Gilliam
August 25, 1938 - November 21, 2015
Charles L. (C.L.) Gilliam, age 77, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord with his family by his side on Saturday, November 21, 2015.
C.L. was a loving husband, father, grandfather, friend and animal lover. He attended both Gravely Baptist Church and West View Baptist Church over the years. C.L. was an Army Veteran, serving as a Military Policeman during the Vietnam War. He retired as an electrician from Mead Paper after many years of service.
Preceding Charles in death are his loving wife of 54 years, Peggy Puckett Gilliam; parents, Lucian and Lottie Moore Gilliam; and sister, Darlena Gilliam Ashworth.
C.L. is survived by his daughter, Jennifer E. Gilliam of Knoxville, son, Daniel T. Gilliam of Kingsport; grandson, Austin Taylor Gilliam of Kingsport; and three step-grandchildren, Whitney Curran, Margo Cantley and Cody Vicars; and sister, Adell Frye also of Kingsport He is further survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 27, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel of Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services or anytime at the home. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 PM with Pastor Mike Stout officiating.
Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post #3 of Kingsport and Gate City Post #265 on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 12:00 PM at Oak Hill Memorial Park,

Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Starnes, Pat Patterson, Bob Neal, Tommy Ashworth, Taylor Gilliam and Cody Vicars.
Memorial contributions may be made the Kingsport Animal Shelter or West View Baptist Church, Building Fund.
