Frank Bergel, 74, of Francis Creek, retired Town of Kossuth farmer, died Thursday morning at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, where he had been a patient for the past three weeks suffering from a lingering illness.

Funeral services will be at 9:00 a.m. Saturday at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville, and at 10 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, Francis Creek, the Rev. Joseph Rauch officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was born April 2, 1883, in the Town of Kossuth, son of the late Stephen and Mary Kafka Bergel. He married the former Anna Schultz, April 9, 1907, and they settled on a farm in the town of Kossuth until nine years ago when they retired and moved to the present home in Francis Creek. The couple celebrated its 50th wedding anniversary this April. Mr. Bergel was a member of the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin and the Holy Name Society of St. Ann.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Raymond Remaker of Whitelaw and Mrs. Edmund Sludzinski of Denmark; two sons, Adolph of Whitelaw and Paul at home; a sister, Mrs. Anna Moss of Monroe, Wis.; 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home where the Rosary will be recited at 7:45 p.m. by the Catholic Knights and at 8:30 by the congregation.

The marriage of Miss Anna Schultz and Frank Burger was celebrated at Francis Creek Tuesday and during the afternoon and evening a reception and dance was given for the bridal pair, 100 guests attending. They will reside at Kossuth.
