Aaron SHOOK, was born in Virginia, the son of John and Eva (HAGLER) SHOOK. When he was very young his family migrated to Ohio where he grew up. He married#1) Margaret LONG on 31 Jan 1824 in Greene Co. Ohio and to this union the following children were born:
- Julia Ann SHOOK
- Elizabeth Eva SHOOK
- John C. SHOOK
- Catherine SHOOK
- Wiliam A. SHOOK
- Martha SHOOK
- Jesse C. SHOOK
- David SHOOK
- Mary SHOOK who died at the age of 3 and buried near her parents at Shook Cemetery.
Following Margaret's death in 1857 Aaron married#2) Nancy BARBER 11 Feb 1861. To this union two sons were born:
- Silas W. SHOOK
- Albert W. SHOOK
