John V. Dirkman, 76, of Francis Creek, died Friday evening at home.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 Tuesday at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville, and at 11 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. The Revs. John Haen and Reginald Schrimpf, S.D.S., will officiate at a concelebrated Mass, with burial in the parish cemetery.

Mr. Dirkman was born Nov. 19, 1896, in the Town of Kossuth, son of the late Valentine and Elizabeth Hauser Dirkman. He married Caroline Zimmer June 24, 1924, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The couple farmed in the Town of Kossuth, moving to the Village of Francis Creek in 1941. Mr. Dirkman was employed at Manitowoc Shipbuilding Co. for many years. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Ann Church.

Pallbearers, all grandsons, will be Jim, Tom, Don, Dick, Steve, Bob and Bill Schleis. Offertory gifts will be presented by David Clingan and Sandra Wachholz. Mass servers will be Bob and Mike Kirkman and lector will be John Wachholz, all grandchildren of Mr. Dirkman.

Survivors include his wife, a son, Leo, of Francis Creek; four daughters, Mrs. Norman (Dorothy) Wachholz, of Manitowoc, Mrs. Leonard (Loueilla) Schleis, of Rt. 2, Cato, Sister Marjorie, of St. Boniface, Manitowoc and Mrs. Robert S. (Marjorie) Clingan, of Northbrook, Ill.; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Lallensack, of Manitowoc, Sister Valencia, of St. Andrew, Manitowoc, and Sister Edmund, of Holy Family Convent.

A brother, three sisters and a granddaughter, Diane Schleis, preceded him in death.

Friends may call at Saur Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday until the time of service. A prayer service will be at 8 p.m. Monday.
