CHARLES HASSEMER
(1900 - 1972)

Charles Hassemer, 72, a former Francis Creek resident, died Tuesday afternoon at Maple Crest Nursing Home, Whitelaw, where he had been a patient eight months.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville, and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. The Rev. John Haen will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Hassemer was born Feb. 16, 1900, in the Town of Kossuth, son of the late Louis and Margaret Seidl Hassemer. He married Mathilda Ahl June 2, 1926. The couple farmed in the Town of Kossuth until 1952. His wife preceded him in death Sept. 21, 1961. He was employed at Medusa Portland Cement Co., Manitowoc, until his retirement in 1965. He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church Holy Name Society, Francis Creek Sportsman Club and Manitowoc Senior Citizens.

Survivors include three sons, Harold, Milton and Ralph, and a daughter, Mrs. James (LaVerne) Tuma, of Francis Creek; three sisters, Mrs. Cecelia Meyer and Mrs. Ann Glaeser, of Manitowoc and Mrs. Emma Kerscher, of Francis Creek and 18 grandchildren. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Thursday where a prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. by Father Haen and the Holy Name Society.
