Emily A. Delsmann, age 94, of 6229 County Trunk R, Manitowoc, died Friday morning, May 29, 2009, at the Northridge Medical and Rehabilitation Center of Manitowoc.
The former Emily Benishek was born Oct. 8, 1914, in the town of Manitowoc Rapids, daughter of the late Frank and Emma Strouf Benishek Sr. She attended the Mac Allister School in the town of Manitowoc Rapids and graduated from Manitowoc's Lincoln High School. Emily was also a graduate of the Manitowoc County Normal School. On Feb. 1, 1933, Emily was married to Bernard R. Delsmann at St. Anne Catholic Church in Francis Creek. Bernard preceded her in death March 31, 1990. In the past Emily worked at Holy Family Hospital. Emily was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Francis Creek.
Survivors include one son: Raymond Delsmann, rural Manitowoc; four daughters and one son-in-law: Eileen Maurer, Sheboygan; Helen Graham, Montesano, Wash.; Janet Paszkiewicz, Manitowoc; Marjorie (Raymond) Kopetsky, Two Rivers; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
Emily was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one grandchild; three sons-in-law: Stanley Maurer; Donald Graham; and Frances Paszkiewicz; six brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday June 3, 2009, at St. Anne Catholic Church in Francis Creek. The Rev. Paul Paider will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial of her cremated remains in the parish cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the church Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 10:30 a.m. The Jens Family Funeral Home and Crematory of Manitowoc is serving the Delsmann family.
