ALBERT KORTENS
(1879 - 1951)

Albert Kortens, 71, of 813 N. 20th St., Manitowoc, died early Tuesday morning at Holy Family Hospital following a lingering illness.

Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 9 a.m. at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. E. A. Radey will officiate with burial in St. Ann Cemetery in Francis Creek.

He was born in 1879 on the home farm in the town of Kossuth, and operated the farm until 1936 when he moved to Manitowoc. Prior to his retirement a year ago he was district sales manager for Murphy Products Company of Burlington, Wis. He was a member of the Holy Name Society.

In 1907, he married Rose Brown who survives with three daughters, Mrs. Joseph Kaiser and Mrs. Gordon Jansen of Manitowoc and Mrs. Frank Van Alstine of Milwaukee; two sons, Edward on the home farm and Paul of Route 2, Two Rivers; brother, Arthur of Route 2, Manitowoc; and sister, Mrs. John Bauer of Manitowoc; and 15 grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday and the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday.

At Francis Creek, Miss Rosa Braun and Albert Kortens, both of Kossuth, exchanged vows of fidelity and were pronounced man and wife by Rev. Pelligran.

The bride is a daughter of Jacob Braun and the groom is a prosperous farmer of Kossuth which will be the home of the couple.

A large party from this city attended the celebration.
