Joseph L. Leggio, 79, of Rockwood, died Sunday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.

Funeral services will be at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 11 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, Francis Creek. The Rev. John Haen will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Leggio was born April 1, 1886, in Messina, Sicily, son of the late Theodore and Antonia Calabresse Leggio. He married Carmela Tramantana April 23, 1910, at Messina. The couple came to America and Rockwood in 1911 and he was employed 35 years by Alwood Lime Co., retiring in 1949. During World War II he was employed by Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc.

Surviving are his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Romy (Antoinette) Gosz, of Rt. 1, Whltelaw, Mrs. Wenzel (Marie) Chvala, of Rt. 1, Maribel, and Mrs. Randolph (Anna) Bleser, of Goodwin Road, Manitowoc, a son, Theodore, of Milwaukee; 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. A daughter preceded him in death.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Tuesday where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.
