Stelfox, was an actress who was well known for her work in film, in the theater, and television, where she was best known for her role as Edna Birch in the soap opera "Emmerdale". She trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and from there went on to television where her many credits, besides "Emmerdale", included "Keeping Up Appearances", "The Bill", "Coronation Street", and "Crossroads". Stelfox also appeared in films such as "Personal Services" (1987), "1984" (1984), and "Carry on at Your Convenience" (1971). She also had a successful career in the theater where she performed many times. Stelfox passed away after a bout with cancer.
