Walter T. Ness

Walter T. Ness, 100, of Normandie Ridge, York, who was formerly of Loganville, died Sunday, December 6, 2015 at the home. He was the husband of Anna A. (Hartman) Ness, with whom he celebrated a 72nd wedding anniversary this past April.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Tuesday December 22, 2015 at 7:00 PM at the Codorus Church of the Brethren, 1129 Dunkard Valley Road, Dallastown, (Route 214, 1mile east of Loganville) with his pastor Rev. Rick Fischl, officiating. A time of visitation and fellowship for family and friends will be held following the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Mr. Ness was born on November 28, 1915 in Springfield Township and was a son of the late Charles H. and Lizzie (Myers) Ness.
Walter was employed as a carpenter with several construction companies in the York area, having retired from Terry Reck Builders, Inc. in 1985.
He was a member of the Codorus Church of the Brethren where he served as a Deacon and had helped to start the Codorus Church Softball Team on which he coached and played on for many years. He and his wife also were Sextons of the church for 13 years. He was an avid outdoors person and hunter, having shot a deer at the age of 92, and was a member of the Rock Oak Hunting Camp in Centre County. He also was a former member of the Izaak Walton League.
Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Tommy L. Ness of Huntingdon, PA and Randy L. Ness and his wife, Jolene of Dillsburg; Five Grandchildren and Five Great Grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Codorus Church of the Brethren, 1129 Dunkard Valley Road, Dallastown, PA 17313
