Virgil G. Newman, 90 years old, passed away on December 1, 2015. Services were Friday, December 4, at the David A. Hall Mortuary, Pittsboro. Burial was in the K of P Cemetery, Lizton.
Born on October 25, 1925 in Kentucky, he was the son of Claude and Julia (St. John) Newman. Virgil was in the United States Army and served in World War II. He married Audrey M. Adams in April, 1968 in Somerset, Kentucky. Virgil was employed as a laborer for Stewart-Warner prior to retirement.
Survivors: wife, Audrey M. Newman; sons, Donald Newman, Jerry Newman; step-sons, Walter Wells, James Wells, Timothy Wells; daughter, Rhonda Walters; step-daughter, Patricia Neal; sisters, Evelyn Spencer, Carol; 20 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
