Mrs. Bernard died Saturday evening, June 25, 1988, in Town Hall Nursing Home in Rusk, Texas.
She was born Aug 16, 1895, in Arkansas, a daughter of John W. Honea and Dortha Rhodes Honea. She was a member of First Christian Church of Palestine and the widow of Dewey Jessie Bernard, who died in July 1980.
Survivors include two daughters, Mavis Poole of Jacksonville, and Virginia Grimsley of Arizona; a son, Mabran D. Bernard of Germany; two brothers, George Honea of Palestine and Willie Honea of Lufkin; six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Condolence calls will be received from 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
