Herman Achsel, 83, of 2116 Maryland Ave., died today at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient two days. Since the death of his wife in May 1950, Mr. Achsel had been residing with his son, Wallace, and family at the above address. Born In the Town of Sheboygan Falls, Sept. 9, 1875, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gottlieb Achsel. He attended district school and was confirmed at Saron Evangelical and Reformed Church, Town of Falls. On June 25, 1910, he married Miss Henrietta Blanck at Saron Church. The couple farmed in the Town of Falls until 1925, then moved to Sheboygan where Mr. Achsel was employed for 10 years by the American Chair Co. and prior to retirement in 1945 at the former Sheboygan Chair Co. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Surviving, in addition to the son, Wallace, are two other sons, Robert and Herman Jr., also of Sheboygan, and seven grandchildren. Two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death. Services will be Monday after noon at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels, with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Plymouth.
