James A. “Tex” Taylor, age 88, formerly of Campbellsville, died Wednesday, December 16, 2015 in London, Kentucky.
He was born December 14, 1927 in Campbellsville to the late Lewis and Sally Dix Taylor. He had worked for Tennessee Gas Transmission before operating two local marinas. He completed his work career with OshKosh at various facilities. He was a member of South Campbellsville Baptist Church and was a Mason.
He is survived by his son, Brad Taylor and his companion, Shirley Huntley, of Tennessee, two daughters, Linda Eversole and her husband, James of London and Reva Hudman and her husband, Glen of Nevada; two step-daughters, Joyce Ann VanPelt, of Somerset and Butch VanPelt of Lancaster; 6 grandchildren, Richard Allen Taylor, Christopher Robert Taylor, Ashley Lanae Taylor, Jamie Hocker, Morgan Hudman and Austin Taylor and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 19th at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home with Dr. Wesley Paul officiating. The burial to follow in the Robinson Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family requests visitation from noon until 2 pm Saturday, prior to the funeral service at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home, Campbellsville.
