August was the son of Peter and Maria (Berg) Weiler. He was born in Niedermendig (Kreis Mayen) Germany in the late 1800's. He didn't marry. He was one of 11 children. His siblings were: Elisabeth, Peter, Maria Magdalena, Therese, Katharina, Johann "Jean", Wilhelm Friedrich, Elisabeth, Friedrich, and Anna Maria.
August worked at a locomotive factory, and was killed there sometime after 1910, in an industrial accident, when either he fell, or something fell on him.
