She was the child of a man who was ahead of his time, and was raised with buffalo, appaloosa horses, She just loved life!
During the War, her brothers left for the service and Thelma left school after eighth grade to work on the ranch. Like many children of the World War II era, she became very resourceful and found joy in the simple things.
She met her future Husband Clifford "Buck" Healey at a dance in Maurine SD. They were marred in 1946, and remained married for 67 years until Clifford died.
She and Clifford spent several years in Belle Creek, Montana in the oil field until Buck’s retirement in 1986. They built their first home in Rockerville
It gave Thelma great pleasure to prepare a feast for people who came to visit she showed her love. If you left her table hungry, there was surely something wrong with you!
Thelma loved the motorhome life, especially winters in Gold Canyon near Apache Junction, AZ. They set up camp in the resort and life was never the same for their neighbors.
