Wilda June Bonner "Willie" Cross, age 77 years, a former resident of Kerens, WV and for the past year a resident of Elkins, WV departed this life Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at her home.

She had been in declining health although death was unexpected.

She was born Thursday, May 12, 1938 at Parsons, WV a daughter of the late Ernest Franklin "Bus" and Sylvia Nada Burns Bonner.

On May 21, 1961 at Parsons, WV she was married to Edwin Leslie "Eddie" Cross, who preceded her in death August 21, 2013.

They had celebrated fifty-two years of marriage.

Surviving are two sons, Ernest Levi Cross and wife Jacquelyn S. Franssen Cross of Kerens, Emmett Franklin Cross and Terri Walker of Charleston; one daughter in law, Angie Tucker Cross of Dunbar; one brother, Darl Bonner and wife Jane of Manassas, VA; one sister, Louise Poling of Perryopolis, PA; two sisters in law, Merle Bonner of MD, Ella M. "Tiny" Canfield of Kerens, two grandchildren, Samantha J. Cross Thomas and husband Chad of Nutter Fort, Pastor Michael L. Cross and wife Lynette Mix Cross of Missoula, MT; and five great grandchildren, Haley R. Thomas, Lindsey Ketterman, Kristen Ketterman, Noah Thomas and Hunter Levi Cross.

Preceding her in death is one son, Kenneth Leslie Cross; two brothers, Eston, and June Bonner; two sisters, Evelyn Barnes, Nada Riley; and one grandson, Matthew R. Cross.

She was a graduate of Parsons High School, with the class of 1957, where she was a member of the Marching Band having played the Clarinet.

She had previously worked for the U. S. Water Resource Council in Washington, D.C. and later with the U. S. Fish & Wildlife Service at Elkins from which she retired after a combination of thirty years of service.

She was a member of the Landmark Baptist Church at Elkins, enjoyed playing bingo, her social activities and cooking and was musically inclined, having played the organ, guitar and banjo.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 5 to 8 PM, Monday.

Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home, Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 11 AM.

Pastor Michael L. Cross will officiate and cremation will follow.

Interment will follow at a later date at the Israel Cemetery at Kerens, WV.
