Bonnie (Stinnett) Acord, age 77 of Marion, passed away on December 25, 2015 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana. Born on October 7, 1938 in Charter Oak, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Omar T. Stinnett and the late Edith Stinnett. On December 17, 1955, Bonnie married the love of her life, Robert "Gene" Acord, Sr., who passed away on October 21, 2014. The focus of Bonnie's life was her family, constantly helping and doting on her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Bonnie is survived by her sons, Robert "Rob" Acord of Marion and Michael Wayne (Laurali) Acord of Van Buren; daughter, Sherri Herring of Marion; five grandchildren, Robert "Rob" (Elaine) Acord, Lake Charles, LA, Ryan Acord, of Marion, Deidre Herring, of Marion, Stephanie Herring, of Birmingham, AL, Savannah Acord, Van Buren; three great-grand children, Addison Acord, Aubrey Acord, and Adrianne Gossett.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gene, and siblings, Dorothy, Bill, Freda, Buck, Aubrey, and Betty.
Arrangements are being entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Friends may visit the family at the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church, 5909 S. Jay St., Marion, IN 46953, on Monday, December 28, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church on Tuesday, December 29 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be following at Park Cemetery in Fairmount
