Martha Lucille Mower, 91, of Kalispell, died at Brendan House on Monday, May 27, 1996.
She was born December 9, 1904 at Sage Creek, Wyoming to James and Martha Roberts. She was the 3ighth of 11 children.
She married J. Ralph Mower on January 9, 1923 in Price, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Latter-Day Saints Temple on December 10, 1957. They made their home in Utah for several years. They farmed in Idaho, the Flathead Valley and the Bitterroot Valley. They retired in Kalispell in 1972 and the Flathead Valley became home to them once more.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She enjoyed watching baseball games on television and reading about her favorite teams in the newspaper.
She also enjoyed crocheting and many forms of needlework. Her family was first among her interests and she loved having them visit. She enjoyed traveling and didn't mind spending days on a bus to visit children and grandchildren all across the US.
She was preceded in death by her husband, all of her brothers and sisters, and two daughters, Arta Mower Blasdel and Opel Marie Parr.
Survivors include a daughter and four sons, LaRane Sedgwick of Missoula, R.D. Mower of Fortine, Kim Mower of Kalispell, J. Mower of Denver and Arvin T. Mower of Kalispell; 30 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
