The stone is difficult to read. The 1850 census lists him as Aurelius (1806 NY) while the 1860 census has him as Aletos (1803 NJ). His children's records usually refer to him as Aretus (born in NY). He married Emeline/Emaline Manning (1817-20, born in either NH or VT, though one record says NY). The couple moved to Kane County, IL in the early 1840's and had six children. I can find no death record for Emeline but she was living with her daughter Alice Winchester in 1880.

Children of Emeline Manning & Aretas Loveland:
1.) Mary (m. Samuel Winchester in 1869)
2.) Henry C (1847 IL-1910, Aurora, IL) (m. Ida Cornwell in 1874)
3.) George J (1850 IL-1936, Rockford) (wife Rosella)
4.) Alice Jane (second wife of Samuel Winchester, whom she married in 1872 after her sister Mary's death in 1871)
5.) Charles S (m. Mary Moors)
6.) Alburt (1860- ?) (he is not shown on the 1870 census)
