Jeremiah "Jerry" Couch, 79, of Wolcott died early Monday morning at the home of his daughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Comstock, in Mill st. A lifetime resident of Wolcott, Mr. Couch was found dead in the bathroom by the Comstocks Monday morning. It is believed that he had gotten up in the night and suffered a heart attack. Mr. Couch had been in poor health for several years, but had been able to go downtown every day. He was born Nov. 14, 1869, in Wolcott, the son of Caroll E. Van Valkenburg Couch and George Couch. He was a member of the Wolcott Methodist church. His wife, Salome Martzolf Couch, died April 12, 1928.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Robertson funeral home, with burial in Glenside cemetery. The Rev. Chester V. Zogg, pastor of the Wolcott Methodist church, officiated.
Surviving besides his daughter, Mrs. Leon Comstock of Wolcott, are three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
