Marriage - HERMUS—ARTHUR - A lovely wedding took place in Mary Immaculate R. C. church, Bellport, at 4 p. m. Sunday when Miss Marjorie Arthur, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Arthur of Bell Street, Bellport, was married to Francis Hermus, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hermus of Second street, Bellport. The Rev. Matthew Dunne performed the ceremony. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of white nylon marquisette over white satin with Chantilly lace front panels and a sweetheart neckline ¦with a high lace collar. The dress had tiny buttons down the front and a long train. Her fingertip veil fell from a crown of white satin and illusion lace trimmed with orange blossoms and seed pearls. She carried a colonial bouquet of mixed white flowers. Miss Alberta Ripperger of Bellport was maid-of-honor. She was dressed in yellow marquisette over taffeta with a yellow lace hat and mitts and carried a colonial bouquet of mixed flowers. The bridesmaids were Mrs. Edward Warner of Freeport, a sister of the bridegroom and Miss Cathryn Cox of Bellport. Their gowns were blue marquisette over taffeta with lace hats and mitts and they also carried mixed old-fashioned bouquets. Kathy Miller of Bellport, four and a half-year-old niece of the bridegroom was flower girl. She wore a gown of pink net over taffeta, a lace hat and mitts and carried an old-fashioned mixed bouquet. Edward Warner of Freeport was best man for his brother-in-law. The ushers were Chester Arthur, brother of the bride, and William Hermus, brother of the bridegroom. The mother of the bride wore a navy dress with navy accessories and a corsage of white gardenias. The mother of the bridegroom was attired in a black and white print with white accessories and a corsage of white roses. The church was decorated with white carnations and snapdragons. The ceremony took place in the presence of about 200 guests. Osborn Shaw of Bellport was organist and Miss Jean Marchant of Yaphank was soloist. A buffet supper was served at the Polish hall on Falcon Avenue, Patchogue, immediately following the ceremony, to about 150 guests. The hall was decorated with wedding bells and streamers. After the reception Mr. and Mrs. Hermus left for a trip through New England by car. Upon their return they will reside at their home on Second street, Bellport. The bride's traveling ensemble was an aqua suit with white accessories. Both Mr. and Mrs. Hermus attended Bellport High school. Mr. Hermus is associated with his father in the plumbing business and Mrs. Hermus is a telephone operator in the Bellport office of the New York Telephone company.
