Vincent "Vince" J. Yuskoski, 72, beloved husband, father, pap, brother, uncle and friend, passed away Thursday Dec. 17, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Shamokin Nov. 8, 1943, a son of the late Vincent and Catherine (Petruskevich) Yuskoski.
He married Janet M. (Williams) Yuskoski Oct. 13, 1962, at the former Holy Cross Church in Mount Carmel.
Vince was a 1961 graduate of Mount Carmel High School and a 1975 graduate of Penn State University.
Vince was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served in Vietnam. He served from September 1961 to August 1965. He served with the 3rd Marine Division, Company "D," 9th Marine Battalion.
Vince retired from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board where he was employed as a supervisor for 25 years.
Vince coached the American Hose Fire Company little league team for several years and after his retirement he delivered Meals on Wheels along with his wife Janet. He was a life member of the American Hose Fire Company, Clover Hose Fire Company and the Lithuanian Social Club, all of Mount Carmel.
Vince was a lover of classical music ­- just ask anyone who ever had the pleasure of riding in his car.
Vince was the father of three children, Ann Scott and her husband, Roscoe, Vincent Yuskoski III, and Jason Yuskoski and his wife, Crystal. He was the proud Pap of seven grandchildren, Megan Habowski, Natalie Oliver, Amanda Yuskoski, Nate Owens, Abigail Yuskoski, Gabriel Yuskoski and Abel Yuskoski. He was also a proud Pap to his eight great-grandchildren, Isaiah Reyes, Gabby, Erin and Leah Oliver, Colton and Micaela Habowski, Ni Asaia Owens and Nate Owens Jr. He is also survived by three sisters, Patricia Augustine, and her husband, Phil, Loretta Fantanarosa and Kathy Golden and her husband, Jim; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by one Sister Alice Concini.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m Saturday, Dec. 19 at the Church of Our Lady in Mount Carmel, the Rev. Francis J. Karwacki will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
