Obituary

Georgie Smith
The Lawrence Democrat 24 Jan 1917

Can it be, can it be that Mrs. Georgie Smith, so kind and noble, is gone, yes gone but not forgotten. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brady Campbell of Giles County. She was born March 25, 1882, and was married to J. A. Smith, December 30, 1914.

She was in bad health six or seven months but bore her illness patiently. She said that she wished she could go to sleep and never wake up, that she was ready to go. She joined the Baptist Church at Cedar Hill where she was laid to rest. She was true, loving and kind to her husband and children and was loved by all who knew her.

It was on the 23 of October that the Lord sent his angel and carried away the spirit of Mrs. Smith. She leaves a husband, a little babe and two step-children, a mother, father and five brothers, and a host of friends to mourn their loss.
