Blondet played professional basketball with the Cardenales de Rio Piedras team in Puerto Rico in the 1970s. He was also a member of the National Basketball Team that participated in the 1972 and 1976 Summer Olympics, and also played for Puerto Rico in the 1971 Panamerican Games in Cali, Colombia.

Ironically, Blondet died exactly on the 30th anniversary of a spectacular goal he shot that won his team the 1976 Puerto Rico Basketball Championship by the close score of 76-74.
