Leo was born Oct. 22, 1925 in Conneaut, Ohio, a son of Nestor and Alma Mary (Peaspanen) Eloranta. He married Betty Jane Sharp on March 12, 1949 in Conneaut, Ohio. She preceded him in death on Aug. 31, 2015.
He is survived by three children, Jeffrey (Catherine) Eloranto, Gary Eloranto and Brenda (Greg) Hills; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a special niece, Audrey Burns.
He was greeted in heaven by his parents, a brother and a sister.
Leo attended Ohio State University; being an alumni and fan was a labor of love. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years and retired as a master sergeant. He also worked in civil service for 20 years.
He was a member of the American Lutheran Church, serving on the church council. He was a photographer, artist and collector of lighthouses.
