Death of C.W. Frith
Charles W. Frith, whose home was on West Ninth avenue, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Taylor, at Guthrie, Oklahoma, Wednesday afternoon at five minutes past three o'clock of old age and apoplexy, aged seventy four years. The remains were brought to Winfield yesterday and the funeral was held from the First Methodist church at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon, conducted by Rev. E.C. Beach. Interment was made in Union cemetery.
Mr. Frith was born in England on May 15th, 1832. He crossed the Atlantic and landed in New York when seven years old. From New York he drifted to Illinois, and there was married to Miss S.M. Fetterly in 1861. Nine children and aged wife survive him.
