He was born on March 18, 1909 in Gridley, Ill; to William and Lena Stoller Grusy. He married Myrtle Smith on November 3, 1933. She died on April 4, 1941. He then married Mary Doyle on November 9, 1946. She died on December 12, 1997.
Surviving is one son, Robert L. (Ellen) Grusy, Jr. of Tucson, AZ; two daughters, Mary E. �Betty� (Curtis) Miller of Spokane, WA, Judith (Wayne) Berman of Rodeo, CA; two brothers, Alf Grusy of Eureka, William (Hazel) Grusy of Texas; two sisters, Viola (Tom) White of Tampa, FL, Virginia Jarnagan of Cedar Rapids, IA; 6 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
A United States Army Air Corps veteran, Bob served his country as an airplane and engine mechanic during WWII.
A farmer by trade, Bob farmed in the Eureka area for many years and was also employed by Farm Service Company in Eureka before retiring in 1980.
Bob was a member of the Woodford County Farm Bureau and the American Legion Post # 466 in Eureka.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday September 15, at the Eureka Apostolic Christian Church. Church ministers will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Thursday at Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka and from 9:00 - 9:45 am on Friday at the chruch. Burial with military rites will be conducted at Olio Township Cemetery in Eureka.
