Gertrude was my Granny. She was so sweet and kind. You could never leave her house without her giving you somthing to take with you.She was the best Granny anyone could have. And she was a very HOLY lady as well. She loved the Lord with all her heart. And she made sure we knew it.She even kepted the sabbath.I always wanted to stay the night with her over the weekend because I knew there was no work to be done on saturday. But I never told Mama that.Granny always had a house full of children.{like my Mother}We would sit around on saturday's and sing and praise the lord.when I was 9 years old I will never forget she would tell me,what ever you do in this life make sure to receive the Holy Sprit.I did not realy understand it at the time but I told her I would. The day we buried Granny I did.I know she was very pleased about that.Granny hobbies wer crocheting, music and taking care of children. She had 13 chilren of her own.I don't know how she did it.Granny was a very good cook. But bless her heart she couldn't bake a cake to save her soul. She was so funny.Granny's health went down and she moved to Danville.right down the street from us.after 11 years of bad health Granny left us.That was a terrible day.But before she left she did get to bless my children.I am very gratefull to her for that.
