Mr. Tisdale was born in Drogheda, Ireland, forty miles from Dublin, June 6, 1833. He came to this country when a child with his parents and settled in Monroe, Michigan, where he resided until a short time before the Civil War. He then came to Chillicothe where he had since made his home. For forty years, he conducted a wagon and carriage factory at the location on East Jackson Street now occupied by the Miller Apartment.
He was married here to Miss Elizabeth Greenwell. To this union, four children were born as follows: Mrs. G.B. Sherman of this city; Mrs. F. J. Thompson of Los Angeles; a son, Jesse Tisdale, whose death occurred at eighteen years of age; and another son, Charles Francis, who died in infancy. Mrs. Tisdale passed away six years ago.
Mr. Tisdale served throughout the Civil War and took an active part in many prominent engagements. For a man of his age, he had a marvelous memory and often told of occurrences that happened while he was serving in the war. He was a musician. Mr. Tisdale possessed a wonderful voice and for years he sang in church choirs.
Funeral services will be held from the Sherman home Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Interment in Edgewood Cemetery." The Chillicothe Constitution, December 1, 1920
