"When John R. Tisdale went to his wife's bed at three o'clock Tuesday morning to see how she was feeling, he found Mrs. Tisdale dead. She evidently had expired about one o'clock. When he reached the bed, he noticed the covers had not been disturbed and he placed his hand on his wife's forehead and found it cold. He then felt of her pulse and found it still. He then notified Mr. and Mrs. G. B. Sherman, at whose home they were, and a physician was summoned.

Upon arrival, the physician announced life had been extinct for some time. Mrs. Tisdale was taken sick Saturday night but her condition was not considered of a serious nature, although she had been under the care of a physician.

The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon from the Sherman home. Rev. F. J. Mapel, pastor of the Elm Street Methodist Church, of which the deceased was a member, will conduct the services. Interment will be made in Edgewood Cemetery.

The decedent was born in Owen County, Kentucky on January 5, 1836. She came to Chillicothe in the spring of 1860 for a visit with her brother, A. J. Greenwell. On September 20 of that year, she was married to J. R. Tisdale. Her husband, along with two daughters, Mrs. G. B. Sherman of this city and Mrs. Cora Thompson of Chicago, survive.

The announcement of the death of Mrs. Tisdale was a shock to her many friends, as few knew of her illness. She was of a lovable character and her kindness won for her a large circle of friends." The Chillicothe Constitution, December 15, 1914
