The daughter of a bricklayer's laborer, she is remembered on a beautiful plaque, found at Postman's Park near St Paul's in London. The Watts Memorial is a wall of plaques dedicated to working class heroes. It was inspired by Alice's story (see Alice Ayres Wikipedia). She is remembered and honoured among other working class heroes who sadly gave their lives to save others.
Alice was buried at Isleworth Cemetery in Isleworth, London. Her grave memorial was paid for by public donations. Approximately 10,000 people attended her burial.
