The information in this memorial is from censuses, a marriage record, property transactions, and the records of Sally's children.

Sally's census records give a birth of about 1800 in North or South Carolina. Two censuses say North, two say South. Her father, Thomas Bond, moved the family from North Carolina to South Carolina, and then to Wilson County, Tennessee. There she met and married Hiram Edwards on 29 April 1817.

Sally and Hiram had five children: Jane, Mary, James, William, and Nancy.

In 1824, Hiram bought two adjoining parcels of land totaling 30 acres in the 12th District of Carroll County, Tennessee. Hiram and Sally moved from Wilson County to Carroll County in mid 1824. Accordingly, children William and Nancy may have been born in Carroll County. However, Hiram's will in October 1827 was known to have been written in Wilson County, since it was witnessed by his two brothers who were residents of Wilson County. Since it is not known where Hiram and Sally were in 1824-1827, it is not possible to know the county of birth of William and Nancy.

Following Hiram's death in 1827, James Bond, the executor of the estate, bought Sally 125 acres in Wilson County, on Hurricane Creek, adjoining the property of Hiram's brother John Edwards. The property, in District 20 also adjoined Robert Edwards in District 19.

Sally never remarried, and lived at the Hurricane Creek residence for the remainder of her life. Sally is enumerated in the 1820 census with Hiram, and is the head of household in every census thereafter through 1880. In her 1880 census, she reported she was sick with consumption, which usually meant tuberculosis. The last record in Sally's life was the 1880 census in Wilson County, while living with her daughter Mary Bennett. The September 1879 date of death is from the 1880 census mortality schedule.

Sally's grave has not been found. She was living with her daughter Mary in 1879, and Mary was buried in 1890 in the Hurricane Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Sally's daughter Nancy Knight is also buried there.
